Mass Times

Covid-19: Guidance for Public Worship:

The following guidance has been issued by the Bishop’s Conference of England and Wales. Face masks should still be worn and hands sanitised on entry. Congregational singing is still not permitted. However, Holy Communion is now permitted on the tongue, but those wishing to receive on the tongue should come up at the end. We will now restore the reception of Holy Communion within Mass but it remains under one kind only. The Sign of Peace is still omitted. Bidding Prayers may be re-introduced. The times of public Masses will remain unchanged at this point. Please continue to follow social distancing rules. Pre-booking online and signing-in for NHS Track and Trace also remain in place.

Sunday Masses: Saturday 6pm, Sunday 9am and 11.15am
Mondays: 9.15am
Wednesdays: 6.30pm (Latin old rite)
Fridays: 6.30pm

Private prayer with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament:
Saturdays 10.30am-12.30pm, with Confessions 10.30-11.30am.

Pre-booking Places for Masses

It is no longer necessary to book places for weekday Masses or to sign in. However, for the time being the booking system will be retained for weekend Masses to avoid overcrowding. The situation is being regularly reviewed and more changes may be announced soon.

Online bookings can be made on the diocesan website at
Telephone bookings can be made by calling 07554 603972 on Tuesday or Wednesday between 2pm and 4pm or Thursday and Friday between 5pm and 7pm.
Please note that a pre-booked seat is not guaranteed if you arrive after Mass has begun.

As the Sunday obligation is still suspended, you are encouraged to take advantage of attending Mass during the week if possible to help ease the numbers at the weekend.
